Privacy policy

At Europe Street News we collect some information about our users to monitor traffic, improve our website and with a view to selling advertising. We ensure maximum respect of your privacy and we do our best to protect it.

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site. It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences, without having to keep re-entering them.

This website uses plugins (software add-on to enable certain functions) that place cookies on your device. Most websites do this. The purpose is to remember users’ actions for online behavioural advertising and to improve the performance of the website. Cookies are installed by a third-party and will remain in your device for a period of time. They will not be used for any purpose other than the ones stated (monitoring traffic and advertising).

You can accept the cookies on this site by clicking “ok” on the banner appearing at the bottom of the page. You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish – for details, see aboutcookies.org. You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being placed. If you choose to do this, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site and some services and functionalities may not work.

Plugins and statistical data

We collect some data when you use the website for statistical purposes, e.g. to track how many users we have, what are the most read pages or what are the browsers used to access the site.

We use Google Analytics for anonymous and aggregated reporting of readers demographics and site usage. Anonymised and aggregated data may be shared with advertising partners. The Google Analytics privacy policy is available here. If you would like to opt-out from this monitoring tool, please go to https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/.

We use Mailchimp for sending newsletters and this involves collecting and storing data about newsletter subscribers. The minimum information we need is an email address where to send the newsletter. Mailchimp provides us with analytics about newsletter users, such as open and click through rates. The Mailchimp privacy policy is available here.

We use plugins to allow readers to share articles in social media. Social media companies may use data they collect through the plugins. These are the Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn privacy policies. If in doubt, please copy and paste directly the link of the article into the social media of your choice.

Advertising

We may use Google AdSense to place advertising on our pages. Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. If you would like to opt out, visit Google Ads Settings or http://www.aboutads.info/consumers.

We may also share anonymised and aggregated data with advertising partners, including commercial organisations that choose to advertise on our website and newsletter or fund content labelled ‘Advertising’, ‘Supported by’, ‘Sponsored by’ or similar.

Our website may contain links to other websites from which we may earn revenue. We will always make clear when content is sponsored or represents advertisement features. Our editorial policy will never be influenced by advertisers.
